Welfare
The welfare activity of Association started in 1971 with meagre aid of Rs. 25 per month to a needy employee of the department. Gradually welfare activities were enhanced over the years.
Application forms for the mentioned schemes can be obtained from ‘Hriday Kunj’ or can be downloaded from this site.
- The association provides monetary help to families of C.P.W.D. employees all over the country, in case of untimely death of the employees, accident causing financial hardship, prolonged illness etc.
- Donations are made to humanitarian causes like Blood Bank, Red Cross, Blind School, Missionaries of Charity, P.M.’s Relief Fund, CM’s Relief Fund. Special donations were given for upliftment of Women in Tihar Jail, lepers of Hind Kush Nivaran Sansthan, Library of ‘Tamanna’ Special School, CRY etc. Donations are also given in kind.
- Scholarships are awarded for Degree and Diploma Courses on merit cum means Basis for the children of group C & D employees. Children, particularly girls are adopted for education.
- A scheme called "Parivar Ki Har Beti Apne Bharose" is being run, in which training is imparted to female dependent of CPWD (group ‘C’ and ‘D’) employee.
Satya Goel Memorial Award
Sh.O.P Goel started this award in the year 2012 in the memory of his wife, Late Smt. Satya Goel. She was actively involved in the activities of the association, especially establishing Bal Basera Creches. This award is given to the wards of group 'C' & 'D' employees on the basis of their academic performance. The award was started with Rs 45000/- in 2012 and has been increased to Rs 100000/- by Sh.O.P Goel in the year 2017-18.
24th April, 2019 (Delhi)
A health check-up camp was organized at a Delhi PWD site near Sarai Kale Khan. A team of doctors was called from the Safdurjung Hospital. The labourers were examined and given medicines. Some were referred to Specialists for further consultation. A total of 104 labourers were examined. They were all given refreshments. Respected DG Sir also visited the site and interacted with the workers and listened to their problems. A general advice on Food and Nutrition was given by our President. This is a small effort by our team to touch the lives of these underprivileged people..
10th April, 2019 (Gandhinagar)
The members of OWA held an informative session for women labourers at IIT CPWD construction site in Gandhinagar, on 'Health and Hygiene' and ' Food and Nutrition' OWA members spoke elaborately on these topics. They also distributed sanitary napkins and a Dettol soap to all women workers present.

A Health Check-up Camp for the construction workers was held at I.I.l.D.E.M Construction site at Sector-12 Dwarka. A team of doctors from Safdurjung Hospital medically examined the labourers. They were also given free medicines on the spot. Some were referred to Specialists for further treatment. 125 individuals were checked which included men, women & their children. Fruits and a set of steel plate and glass were given to all those who came for health check-up. Children were given toys and books.
18th February, 2019 (DELHI)
Smt.Meenakshi Lekhi, Hon'ble Member of Parliament visited the FREE HEALTH CHECK-UP CAMP first of its kind,organized by CPWD-OWA Delhi for the labourers at the construction site located on Dr.B.D Marg. Doctors and Nurses from RML Hospital medically examined the labourers.They were also given free medicines on the spot. Some were referred to Specialists for further treatment. A total of 277 individuals were checked on the site. This included men & women labourers and their children. Refreshments were given to all those who came for the health check-up.

CPWD Officers' Wives Association, Delhi organized a **Blood Donation Camp** with the help of Red Cross Society. People came in large numbers to volunteer for Blood donation. DG, CPWD Sh. Prabhakar Singh also came along with his Officers & Staff to donate blood and motivate the donors. All donors were served refreshments.
We were able to provide the Red Cross Society with **unprecedented 59 Units of blood**. It was a well coordinated event and the Executive Body participated enthusiastically for this noble cause.

The Members of CPWD OWA (Delhi) organized a camp for the underprivileged women, making them aware about **Health, Hygiene, Food & Nutrition**. A dietitian, Mrs.Tanu Arora of RML Hospital was invited as the guest speaker. An extensive Ques. & Ans. session was held after the talk. The programme was well received by the attendees. A cheque of **Rs. 50,000/- was given to Shanti Avedna Ashram**, New Delhi for cancer patients by C.P.W.D. Officers' Wives Association. At this occasion, President Smt. Gargi Devi, Advisor Smt. Sarita Mittal, Vice Presidents, General Secretary and other office bearers of the Association were present.
