Dear Visitor,

With the blessings of almighty, I have assumed the post of President of CPWD Officers Wives Association on 1st March, 2013.

This post has given me more social responsibilities although  I have the past-experience of several years for working in the Association in different capacities in Delhi and outside Delhi.  Over the years, it’s activities have become an integral part of my daily routine.  So I am sure to discharge my duties successfully with sincere cooperation from all esteemed members of the association.

With humble beginning in 1971 by Mrs.R.Muthechan, this Association has grown by leaps and bounds into a strong cohesive unit what it is today.

CPWD Officers Wives Association is a socio-cultural organization.  Our Association provides monetary help to needy families of CPWD employees in the event of untimely death of employee or prolonged illness all over the country, awards scholarship to the meritorious children for degree/diploma courses, gives donation to different Institutions like blind school, orphanages etc. and to Prime Minister Relief Fund for the victims of natural calamities.

Our Association runs seven crèches for the children of the labourer at CPWD construction site. Our Association provides them non formal education, medical care and nutrition during working hours of their parents. They are also encouraged to have formal education.

In addition to this, embroidery classes, pre-nursery, nursery classes, play classes, crèche for the children of working couples are also run by the Association.

I will try to increase some more welfare activities like computer classes, tution classes etc. for needy children with the help and cooperation of the ‘Executive Members’.

I am also committed to raise revenue for the Association by organizing various activities in the coming future under the guidance of our senior members and with cooperation of executive members so that more and more welfare activities are undertaken by our Association.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank to the members who have, over the years, given their time and energy in building the Association and carrying out various activities. It is indeed a privilege to be connected with this association. I look forward to all Officers’ Wives becoming members of this Association and to take the Association to new heights.

Also, I express my heartiest gratitude to CPWD Officers’ for their time and support in all our endeavours.

Wishing a very happy and colourful ‘HOLI’ to you and your family.

With Best Wishes,
REKHA GUPTA

Respected patrons and members of the CPWD Officers' Wives Association family.

It's a great privilege and an honour for me to be in this position today.

Working towards the development of the poor for the past couple of decades, I have not been able to be an active member of the Association. However, based on the discussions I have had with several members, I realise the extremely important work and wide variety of work that is being undertaken in the areas of welfare, women empowerment, giving donations to the needy, education of children, specially the children of the labour working on the construction sites and those less fortunate. The response to calamities indicates the preparedness of the Association to respond to emergencies. The cultural activities help promote a feeling of oneness amongst all.

Given the recent Constitutional Right to Education, it is extremely important that these children are educated and also linked up to schools so that their further formal education can continue. I am sure the nutritious food provided to the children in the bal baseras will go a long way in improving their nutrition levels of these needy children, giving them a chance to grow to their full physical and mental potential. The work undertaken by the Vocational Training Centre is providing much need skills to young girls and women, which will go a long way in making them economically independent.
We now need to take all this forward to the next step in our journey of deepening, strengthening and spreading our work through engagement, collaboration and partnerships.

I ensure that I take forward the good work of my predecessors. Since excellence is a journey, within the short time that I have, I will devote my energies to working towards achieving greater heights. For this I hope to use the professional experience that I have gained over the years and the guidance and support of my predecessors, those who have selflessly taken on responsibilities and the entire CPWD Officers’ Wives Association fraternity.

With warm regards

Indira Khurana

Dear Visitors,

Welcome to the site of CPWD officers wives association.

It is with absolute humility and gratitude to the Almighty that I assume the appointment of the President of this prestigious association. I am aware of the veneration with which this office is held by all the members of this great organization.

Over the years CPWD officers wives associations activities have become an integral part of our life. With humble beginning in 1971, a brain child of Mrs. R. Muthachen has grown in strength and structure and today CPWD officers wives association can take legitimate pride of its multifarious welfare activities.

Early Childhood Care and Education of children is an investment and is the need of the day. These children will be the leaders of tomorrow while the nation is on the threshold of becoming human resource power. A good education in the early years is critical for the mental and physical faculties of a child. We would all like our children to have the advantage of good start. Children of labours at construction sites, can not afford costly schools, so we must provide them quality education at a fee which they can afford. To achieve this noble work our association is running following program:

  • Bal Baseras
  • Vocational institutions
  • Scholarships for the needy children of employees

Changing times demand change in attitude to be better prepared in looking after the interest of our employees families and children through personal indulgence, affection and care. For this our association is running following program:

  • Diffusion of knowledge in the field of science, culture and art for members.
  • Relief and welfare of needy personals of CPWD

This organization is supported by the voluntary donations, which is exempt under the income tax act. I convey my thanks to them who contribute for noble effort and hope this will be continued in future also.
I wish to express my gratitude to all my predecessors whose vision and significant contributions have given CPWD officers wives association a prominent place as an effective association of our country.  I wish to express my resolve for continuing all meaningful and relevant concepts and projects for the larger good of our environment.
With a multi-pronged effort on the education and welfare fronts, so much has been achieved, and it will continue onwards with even greater force. My heartfelt compliments go out to each and every member.
I like to invite wives of all the CPWD officers to become members of this organization.

With Best wishes....

Dear Visitors,

Welcome to the website of CPWD officers wives association.

With the blessings of Almighty, I have assumed the post of the President of CPWD Officers Wives Association on 1st Feb.2009. I am aware of the hardships and struggle with which this association has bloomed into a big tree today. I would, therefore, like to tread the path shown by my seniors, with the help of all members of the CPWD family. I wish to express my sincere gratitude to all my predecessors whose vision and significant contribution has given this association a prominent place in the society.

On this occasion, I would like to reiterate that on going activities of the association would continue with enhanced vigour provided by its members. Our association provides monetary help to the needy families of CPWD employees all over the country, awards scholarships to their wards for Degree / Diploma courses, runs some schemes to benefit girl child and gives donations to humanitarian causes.

Bal Basera is the name given to the creches run for the children of the labours at construction sites. Today we have seven creches in Delhi. Our Association provides them with non formal education, medical care & nutrition during working hours of their parents. They are also encouraged for formal education.

Of late, the association has collected & given usable old clothes for distribution to the needy through an NGO called Goonj, who process these cloths for use by the victims of natural calamities. I would call upon all the members to continue this process of sending such clothes to the association office to be sent to the above NGO on regular basis.

I would call upon all members of the Association to work collectively as a team as this only can bring about any meaningful improvement and tangible benefits. I quote "Team work is the only fuel that allows common people to achieve uncommon results".

Last but not the least I make the earnest appeal to all the members of our Association and their spouses in the official positions in the Department to motivate all ranks under them to join this association for a noble cause because this association is one & for all from CPWD.

I wish good luck & fruitful achievements in the days to come.

Dear Visitors,

Welcome to the website of CPWD officers wives association.

I applaud the vision of Mrs. R. Muthachan who founded the CPWDs Officers Wife Association in 1971. It gives us great pleasure to see a seed that was planted nearly 37 years ago, blossoming into a full-grown tree today.
CPWD Officers Wife Association is a group of dedicated & committed individuals, devoted for the welfare of under-privileged workers and their family members. The Association runs crèches at the construction sites and provides free nourishment, education & medical care to the children. Additionally, it provides monetary help to families of CPWDs employees in the event of untimely death of the employee, prolonged illness, etc. The Association also makes noteworthy contribution to the society at large and extends support at the time of natural calamities through donations to Blood Bank, Red Cross, PM’s relief fund, etc.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the members of the Association who have, over the years, given their time and energy in building the Association and driving various initiatives. It is indeed a privilege to be connected with a noble cause such as this association. I look forward to all Officers’ Wives becoming members of the Association and to take the association to new heights.

Also, I express my heartiest gratitude to CPWDs Officers for their time and support in all our endeavors.

Wishing a very Happy Diwali to you & your family.
