On occasion of Christmas, members of OWA Gandhinagar distributed food items to Children of construction workers at 'Salt Satyagraha Memorial Site' at Dandi, Gujarat.

(CHANDIGARH UNIT)

Members of CPWD OWA(Chandigarh Unit) celebrated Christmas at the Bal basera , Sector -38 construction site.The children did some Art work.Goodie bags and slates were distributed to them.Senior officers also visited the Creche to encourage the children. The efforts put in by the OWA Chandigarh are well appreciated.

20th December,2018

CPWD Officers' Wives Association,Delhi organized a Blood Donation Camp with the help of Red Cross Society. People came in large numbers to volunteer for Blood donation. DG, CPWD Sh.Prabhakar Singh also came along with his Officers & Staff to donate blood and motivate the donors. All donors were served refreshments
We were able to provide the Red Cross Society with unprecedented 59 Units of blood.
It was a well coordinated event and the Executive Body participated enthusiastically for this noble cause.

5th December,2018

The Members of CPWD OWA (Delhi) organized a camp for the underprivileged women, making them aware about Health, Hygiene, Food & Nutrition. A dietitian, Mrs.Tanu Arora of RML Hospital was invited as the guest speaker.An extensive Ques.& Ans session was held after the talk.The programme was well received by the attendees.

The CPWD OWA - Gandhinagar Unit visited old age home and spent quality time with them.

An Art and Craft Competition was organized for the Bal Basera children. They participated with much enthusiasm.Patron members also joined to encourage the children and appreciated their talent.

15th November,2018

To mark the Childrens' Day a small sports event was organized for the children of the Play School .The little ones participated very enthusiastically.
All the children were given refreshment packets.

3rd November,2018

The CPWD-OWA (Delhi) organized 'DIWALI MILAN' for its members at Hriday Kunj,Sec.-6, RK Puram.
It was a fun- filled evening with Music, Dance & Games. Sh.O.P Goel gave the Satya Goel Memorial award to meritorious students in the form of cheques along with certificates. The entertainment was followed by contributory dinner.The programme was well appreciated by the Patron Members.

2nd November,2018

(GUJARAT UNIT, Ahmedabad)

The CPWD Wives team distributed toys, biscuits and stationary items to the children of labourers at IIT Gandhinagar creches. We also gave other items from our homes to the families of labourers. The creches there are well maintained. The labourer camps are well maintained, giving them decent quality of living.

To mark the Festival of Diwali, the members of OWA distributed sweets among the children of labourers at the construction Sites. The team is making commendable efforts to start the Bal Basera creches at different sites in Chandigarh.

CPWD-OWA organized an Art and Craft Activity for the children of Play School & Day Care. They were made to do vegetable printing & paper pasting.The children participated with full fervour.

The children of the Bal Baseras who participated in the Art Competition held at Sunder Nursery on 25th Sept.,2018 to mark 'Swacchata Diwas',were given Appreciation Certificates.

(GUJARAT UNIT, Gandhinagar)

The CPWD-OWA (Gujrat Unit) Organized Garba Utsav in Gandhinagar. It was a fun-filled,energetic evening of Music & Dance.All women were dressed up in bright,colourful,traditional Indian costumes and looked great. Our Patron Members, Smt.Kirti Banwait & Smt.Adarsh Arora were also present at the event .

Gandhi Jayanti Celebration 1st October 2018

On the eve of Gandhi Jayanti the Executive Members of CPWD Officers' Wives Association visited the Bal Basera Creches at different sites.The children presented skits & short speeches on Mahatma Gandhi & "Swacchata Hi Sewa". They also took a 'Swacchata Pledge' under the guidance of their respective creche incharges.Refreshments were distributed to all the children.

Tree Plantation by Gujrat Unit (Ahmedabad) 27th September,2018

CPWD-OWA unit at Ahmedabad took the initiative to Plant Trees & Save the Environment.They planted 33 fruit trees ....Amla, Amrud, Jamun and kesar mango at Sports Authority of India... and 2 Naaglingam trees ....at Abhay ghat,which is Morarji Desai Sthal.We Congratulate them for participating in this noble cause.

"Swacchata Hi Sewa"Fortnight. 15th September-2nd October,2018

To mark this Occasion, CPWD organized 'Shram Daan' by Officers & Staff & a Painting Competition for School Children on 25th September at Sunder Nursery.

10 Children from our Bal Basera Creches participated in the Painting Competition. The Executive Body was also present to encourage the children.
It was a very motivating initiative by the CPWD.

HealthTalk 20th September, 2018.

C.P.W.D. Officers’ Wives Association organized a Super Specialised Health talk by Two eminent doctors .
1) 'Prevention of Heart Attack' by Dr. Tarun Kumar, Asstt Professor Cardiology RML Hospital
2)'Cancer Awareness & Prevention' by Dr.S.P Kataria, Consultant & Ex-HOD Medical Oncology Safdarjung Hospital.

The lectures were followed by an interactive session between the doctors & the members which proved to be very useful. The members greatly benefited from this Health Talk.

Tree Plantation,12th September,2018.

Planting Trees is one of the most important things we can do to contribute to the health of the planet.
CPWD Officers' Wives Association organized a TREE PLANTATION drive on 12th September,2018 at Bhagwan Mahavir Vanasthali. Trees were planted by the Chief Guest Smt.Laxmi Puri[(W/O Hon'ble Minister Sh. Hardeep.S Puri(MoHUA)],our President,Smt Deepa Singh & other members of OWA.

CPWD Officers" Wives Association donates for the Kerala Flood Victims, 7th September,2018.

With the cooperation and support of all the members of CPWD Officers' Wives Association, the FLOOD RELIEF MATERIAL FOR KERALA was handed over to the Resident Commissioner at KERALA HOUSE, New Delhi.

Independence Day Celebration, 13th & 14th August, 2018
C.P.W.D. Officers' Wives Association celebrated Independence Day in its different creches and School & Day care centre at Hriday Kunj. President Smt. Deepa Singh hoisted the National Flag along with Vice Presidents and executive members. On this occasion children participated in different cultural activities like songs, dances etc. It was a great achievement for teachers who cultivated overall development of children & made them aware of their National Festival. Sweets, fruits and gifts were distributed among the children.

Teej Festival, 9th August,2018
CPWD Officers' Wives Association celebrated Teej Festival at Hriday Kunj. On this occasion our distinguished patrons & retired members, President Smt.Deepa Singh, Vice Presidents, office bearers and other members of the Association were present. Songs ,Dances & Skits were presented by the executive members. Churiwala and Mehndiwala added joy and colours to the festival.

"Cultural Evening 11th July, 2018"
The Association organized the Musical Evening 'SPANDAN' on the eve of 164th CPWD Day on 11th July,2018.Smt Meenakshi Lekhi, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) was the Chief Guest & Sh Durga Shanker Mishra,Secretary (MoHUA) was the Guest of Honour. Other Dignitaries present were Sh. Prabhakar Singh, DG(W) & Sh Ravinder Kumar Thathu DG (P).
The Dignitaries distributed Scholarships & Sewing Machines to the children of Group C & D employees of CPWD. Our Patron members Smt.Ratan Prabha Lal & Smt. Veena Dogra were felicitated by the Chief Guest.
The audience was entertained by the Zenith Dance Group.Our young dynamic engineers from the National CPWD Academy also gave commendable performances. The programme was well appreciated by all.
