9th December,2019 ( OWA Delhi) OWA President , Mrs.Deepa Singh inaugurated a new Bal Basera at IIT ROORKEE construction site.
The President was accompanied by other office bearers of OWA Delhi.
There are 30 children in this creche.Each one of them was gifted a set of woollen clothes and a set of books, pencils & colours by the President .
The President also gave a brief awareness talk on Health , Hygiene and Nutrition.
A tree plantation drive was organized at the CPWD Division Office , Roorkee.
The inauguration event was organized successfully by OWA Vice President (Dehradun), Mrs. Rekha Singh with support of Sh.Surinder Singh(Chief Engineer, Dehradun) and other officers of the zone.
The event was extensively covered by print and visual media.

1-7 December,2019 ( OWA Delhi) Members of OWA Delhi took an initiative to observe "FIT INDIA WEEK " at all the Bal-Baseras , School and the Vocational Training Centre.
The motive is to encourage everyone to remain healthy and fit by including physical activities and sports in their daily lives.
All the children participated enthusiastically in sports activities and yoga.
They were also advised on importance of Fitness and Nutrition and were told about consequences of unhealthy food.
Students at the Vocational Training Centre also participated in outdoor activities like kho-kho and yoga.
The drive included poster making , yoga and sports activities.
All participants were given juices for refreshment.
All efforts are being made to make yoga and physical activities a part of the daily routine.

21st November,2019 (OWA DELHI) A warm farewell was arranged for our very sincere member, Mrs.Meena Chandra (Vice President Programming) as her husband superannuated from CPWD.
The President presented her with a stole and an Appreciation certificate for her dedicated hard work in the Association.
Many senior members also graced the occasion.

21st November,2019 (OWA DELHI) An Art & Craft competition was organized for the Bal basera children to bring out their hidden talent and inculcate competitive spirit in them. They participated with full enthusiasm and prizes were given to the winners.
The Bal Sevikas were also given gifts to appreciate their hard work.
The Executive members and Senior members appreciated the art work done by the children and encouraged them.

19th November,2019 (OWA DELHI) A Sports event was held for the school children at Hriday Kunj.
The children participated enthusiastically in different type of races and games. Winners were given prizes.All the children were given goodie bags.

11th November,2019 (OWA DELHI) First of its kind , a health check-up camp for CANCER SCREENING AND OTHER HEALTH RELATED PROBLEMS IN WOMEN was organized by OWA(Delhi) on 11th November at Hriday Kunj.
A team of gynecologists from Safdurjung Hospital examined the patients.
Women in the age group of 40yrs-60yrs underwent MAMMOGRAPHY.
Various tests like Pap smear, Sugar , Blood pressure, Eye sight and bone density were done for all the women.
A session for Tuberculosis awareness was also held.
They were also given basic medicines and supplements.
A total of 120 women were examined. 22 of them underwent Mammography.
Director General CPWD, Sh.Prabhakar Singh also visited the camp along with his officers and assured his support for all our future endeavors.

9th November,2019 (OWA Prayagraj) A Health check-up camp for construction workers was organized at construction site of Boys Hostel at MNNIT PRAYAGRAJ.The workers were examined by a team of doctors from MNNIT Hospital.150 patients were examined.All workers were given medicine, refreshment and were also advised about general health care.

19th October,2019 (OWA Delhi) The CPWD-OWA (Delhi) organized 'DIWALI CELEBRATION' for its members at Hriday Kunj,Sec.-6, RK Puram.
A stall with diyas and Diwali decorations was arranged.
The Scholarships for 'Satya Goel Memorial Award' were distributed to eight meritorious children of group C employees.Five of them were from Delhi and three from other states.
The members played some fun games and tambola which they enjoyed thoroughly. The programme concluded on a joyful note and the members enjoyed the delectable food.

11th October,2019 (OWA Delhi) A Health check-up camp for construction workers was organized at Deen Dayal Upadhya Marg construction site for Type VII flats.
The workers were examined by a team of doctors from Safdurjung Hospital.Few of them were referred to the specialists.Director General CPWD, Sh.Prabhakar Singh also visited the site. 125 patients were examined.
All workers were given refreshments and were also advised about general health care.

4th October,2019 (OWA Chandigarh) Members of OWA Chandigarh have added another feather in the cap by implementing the MOU signed between CPWD and CPWD-OWA.
They organized a health check-up camp for construction workers at IIT Ropar site.
The workers were examined by doctors from PGI. Some of them were referred to Specialists.

1st-3rd October (OWA Delhi) To mark the 'Swacchata Pakhwara' and initiate "no to single use plastic" campaign the members visited all the Bal-Baseras.The children were made to take the Swacchata pledge. They also staged patriotic skits and songs.

2nd October,2019 (OWA Delhi) To mark the ' Swacchata Pakhwara" and initiate a campaign on ' no to single use plastic' a painting competition was organized by CPWD at Lodhi Colony.
Children from our Bal Baseras also participated in this competition and won prizes.
A student, Ms. SONA of Gandhi market BAL BASERA won the first prize in 5-11 years category.
The JAZBA group performed a skit based on " NO TO SINGLE USE PLASTIC".
Each one present there was gifted a jute bag.
DG, CPWD Sh. Prabhakar Singh ji and President OWA Smt. Deepa Singh gave away the prizes to the children and the teachers and blessed them.

24th September,2019 (OWA Delhi) A health talk was organized by OWA(Delhi) for its members at Hriday Kunj. Two eminent doctors were invited as guest speakers.
Dr. ACHLA BATRA, a gynaecologist from Safdurjung Hospital spoke about the problems faced by women in their midlife.
DR.BINDU KULSHRESHTHA,, an Endocrinologist from RML Hospital discussed harmonal problems like diabetes ,thyroiditis etc.
There was an extensive interactive session and the members greatly benefitted from these discussions.

14th September,2019(OWA Bhubaneswar) Members of OWA Bhubneswar visited Nilakantheswar village near Konark and distributed food packets comprising of Dal, sugar, milk powder, biscuits, .sattu and chidwa in a relief Camp to the "Fanni" affected people. Around 135 families got benefitted.

3rd September,2019 (OWA Delhi) A health check-up camp was organized by OWA Delhi for the workers at Kushak Road Enquiry.
200 workers were examined by a team of doctors from Safdurjung Hospital.
46 of them were referred further to Specialists and 2 of them send to Emergency.
DG CPWD, Sh. Prabhakar Singh ji visited the camp and congratulated the OWA team for organizing and participating in this noble cause.He assured us of his constant support in such endeavors.
All the workers were given refreshments.

23rd August,2019 (OWA Delhi) The festival of Janamashtami was celebrated with great passion and zeal by our tiny tots in Hriday Kunj .
The children dressed up as Lord Krishna and Radha complete with flutes and peacock feathers. They were also made to do art & craft activities related to the festival.
The celebration was a great success as a result of the efforts put in by the teachers, Vice- President ( School & Daycare) and not to forget the parents who dressed up the children.

19th July, 2019 (OWA Delhi) SIXTH creche at Mohammadpur construction site, New Delhi was inaugurated by the President CPWD-OWA.
Members of the Executive body were also present.Snacks boxes and hygiene kits ( toothbrush, toothpaste, hair oil,comb etc.) were given to the children.
They were also advised on maintaining basic hygiene.

Activities of CPWD Officers' Wives Association all over India were also highlighted in this exhibition.

11th July,2019 (OWA Delhi) On the eve of 165th foundation day of CPWD, the Officers' Wives Association organized a Cultural Evening, SURLASIKA, in Mavalankar Hall. Mrs. Nutan Goel, wife of Hon'ble Minister Dr.Harsh Vardhan was invited as the Chief Guest. Sh. Durga Shanker Mishra( Secretary MoHUA) was the Guest of Honour.The Director General CPWD,Sh.Prabhakar Singh also graced the occasion.Senior Officers from all over India also attended the Cultural Evening.
Meritorious children of group C employees of CPWD were given Scholarship cheques by the Chief Guest.
ZENITH group of dance performed a ballet based on life of Lord Krishna.
The audience was mesmerized by their performance.

3rd June,2019 (Delhi) An MoU has been signed between CPWD Officers' Wives Association and CPWD on 3rd June,2019 in Nirman Bhavan wherein CPWD-OWA shall organize Health Camps for construction workers and their family members and also provide creches to their children at construction sites of CPWD all over India.

21st May,2019 OWA (GANDHINAGAR UNIT) A creche was started at a site in Jamnagar. A lady is deputed to take care of the children, when mothers are working.

1st May,2019 (Gandhinagar) To mark the Labour Day on 1st May, OWA Gandhinagar
conducted games for women and men labourers at IIT construction site, Gandhinagar.
This was co ordinated by Sonali Mittal and Sunita Sharma, fully supported by CPWD IIT GANDHINAGAR.
They organized 3 fun-filled games to raise their spirits.
It ended with snacks distribution to 50 labourers.

29th April,2019 (Delhi) The Annual General Body Meeting was held at Hriday Kunj. All the Vice Presidents, Treasurer and the General Secretary read their Annual report giving the details of activities & expenses incurred in the year 2018-19. The President also gave an overall review of the milestones achieved in 2018-19.
Suggestions on certain issues were given by the Patron members.

24th April,2019 (Delhi) A health check-up camp was organized at a Delhi PWD site near Sarai Kale Khan. A team of doctors was called from the Safdurjung Hospital. The labourers were examined and given medicines. Some were referred to Specialists for further consultation.
A total of 104 labourers were examined.They were all given refreshments.
Respected DG Sir also visited the site and interacted with the workers and listened to their problems.
A general advice on Food and Nutrition was given by our President.
This is a small effort by our team to touch the lives of these underprivileged people..

10th April,2019 (Gandhinagar) The members of OWA held an informative session for women labourers at IIT CPWD construction site in Gandhinagar, on 'Health and Hygiene' and ' Food and Nutrition' OWA members spoke elaborately on these topics.
They also distributed sanitary napkins and a Dettol soap to all women workers present.

25th March,2019 (DELHI) CPWD-OWA (Delhi) organized a picnic for the Bal Basersa children at Mahavir Vanasthali.Games were arranged for the children and winners were given prizes.All the children, Bal Sevikas and the ayahs were given return gifts.The award for best creche went to the one at Railway Construction site, Tilak Bridge.The event was also attended by patron members. Lunch was served to all. The children thoroughly enjoyed the outing.

12th March,2019 (DELHI) A Health Check-up Camp for the construction workers was held at I.I.l.D.E.M Construction site at Sector-12 Dwarka. A team of doctors from Safdurjung Hospital medically examined the labourers. They were also given free medicines on the spot.Some were referred to Specialists for further treatment.
125 individuals were checked which included men, women & their children. Fruits and a set of steel plate and glass were given to all those who came for health check-up. Children were given toys and books.

28th February,2019 (DELHI) Today the Bal Basera children attended a workshop organized by the St+art Media Group.
The children accompanied by Executive members went for a curated tour of the artwork in Lodhi Colony where they were introduced to Indian & Foreign artists involved in this artwork.
The children also did some artwork on a wall using stencils & spray paints.
It was a totally new experience for the children and a new arena was opened to them.

18th February,2019 (DELHI) Smt.Meenakshi Lekhi, Hon'ble Member of Parliament visited the FREE HEALTH CHECK-UP CAMP first of its kind,organized by CPWD-OWA Delhi for the labourers at the construction site located on Dr.B.D Marg. Doctors and Nurses from RML Hospital medically examined the labourers.They were also given free medicines on the spot. Some were referred to Specialists for further treatment.
A total of 277 individuals were checked on the site.This included men & women labourers and their children.Refreshments were given to all those who came for the health check-up.

13th Febraury,2019 (CHANDIGARH UNIT) Chandigarh OWA organized a dental & hygiene camp on one of the construction sites.Doctors gave demonstrations which were well received by the attendees. Some items related to hygiene were distributed. They were also given refreshments.

8th February,2019 ( DELHI) A Bal Basera was inaugurated by the President ,CPWD-OWA ,Smt.Deepa Singh,at a Railways Construction site,behind Hotel Leela Palace, Chanakyapuri.
There are 21 children in this creche. Toiletries kits were distributed to the children.They were also given refreshments.
The executive body interacted with the lady labourers and their children and advised them about basic hygiene.

28th January,2019 BHUBNESWAR UNIT To mark the 70th Republic Day, the CPWD-OWA Bhubneswar also took an initiative and started with their activities. 18th January,2019 The Vocational Training Centre, has a collaboration with Usha Sewing Machines. They together organized a workshop at Hriday Kunj,R K Puram, New Delhi.
Usha representatives gave
demonstrations of their different fashion maker models named Marvela, Allure, Wonder stich & Stich magic.
The workshop was attended by ladies from nearby areas & staff of Hriday Kunj. They showed keen interest in the demonstrations and their queries were resolved by the Usha representatives.

15th January,2019 On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, OWA, Delhi distributed woollen clothes and sweets to the children at all the Bal-Baseras.The happiness on the children's faces was heartwarming.
